Gawler East Link Road

The $59.97 million Gawler East Link Road will provide local traffic with direct access to Main North Road without travelling through the Gawler Town Centre.

The project includes the signalised upgrade of the Main North Road intersection with Potts Road and Para Road, an upgrade to a portion of the existing Potts Road, a bridge over the South Para River, and a new connection of the link road to Calton Road.

A separate $4 million upgrade was also announced, to install traffic signals at the nearby Main North Road intersection with Tulloch Road and Morrow Avenue.

Major construction of the Gawler East Link Road commenced in late 2018 after the contract to design and construct the road was awarded to South Australian Company Bardavcol.

Lab and Field worked closely with Bardavcol throughout the project to ensure that all project timelines were met, with a senior field technician on-site full time and a dedicated project manager coordinating the test samples through the lab to ensure a quick turnaround time for all tests.

Lab and Field also coordinated all other external testing which couldn’t be undertaken in-house. This meant Bardavcol didn’t have to coordinate the testing or arrange the logistics of several testing facilities. It also ensured there was only one channel for communication for the project team and the lab.
